Our Favorites:
Breakfast: Ess-a-bagel (831 3rd Avenue, www.ess-a-bagel.com)
Worth the walk to taste these fresh bagels! Trust us, they are different in New York and not the same in any ‘ole deli.

Lunch: Corner Deli’s
Any corner deli you can find! The sandwiches come anyway you like – however, be warned that if you are there during a busy time (before 8:30am or lunchtime), people expect you to make a quick decision. A great option for breakfast too. Be leery of the buffets though, they add up quick! There is a deli on 54th, across from the hotel.

Dinner: Eatery, Dip… (798 9th Avenue, www.eaterynyc.com) (416 3rd Ave, www.dipnyc.com)
It’s a multiple-way tie between Eatery, Dip, and any restaurant in the West Village or Little Italy. If you are in the area of the West Village or Little Italy around 5pm or so, look for the Prix Faire menus – often it is a salad, entrée, glass of wine and dessert for under $30 per person. This is a steal and a great way to try the foods of NYC.

A place where everyone knows your name and it’s across from the hotel too!

Sweet Treats: Crumbs bakery (http://www.crumbsbakeshop.com/)
You can’t leave NYC without trying a cupcake! There are several places to try – Crumbs, Billy’s, Magnolia Bakery, Buttercup Bakeshop, etc.

Touted as one of the best burgers you can get in New York City.

Le Bonne Soup:
I love this place! It is a perfect bargain lunch spot. For $16.75, you get soup, salad, bread, a glass of wine and dessert – what a steal! Great underground French atmosphere within two blocks of the hotel.

Hallah Food Vendor:
Across the street and wonderful! For around $5 you get salad, meat, rice, bread and yogurt sauce. We like to eat here at least once for dinner and sit on the nearby park benches to people watch.

Nathan’s on the Staten Island Ferry: Get this on your return trip, since you’ll most likely want to take in the views on the way out there. Wash it down with a cold beverage and you are good to go!
